Consulting

Shade It In, LLC supports organizations in the co-creation of an improved, trauma informed culture through a combination of culture competency assessments, leadership coaching, and customizable educational sessions.

We believe that organizations have the ability to actively shape and color their workplace culture. Cultural assessments coupled with trauma-informed 1:1 leadership coaching and education act as the palette, offering valuable, measurable, and actionable insights into the well-being of employees. These services allow organizations, teams, leaders, and you to look within, to notice your individual and structural blind spots to empathy and compassion, and to be open to responding in more effective and understanding ways.

Consulting Components

  • Cultural Humility Assessments

Group and individual psychometric assessment of intercultural competence at individual and organizational levels. Our team can guide you through the entire process, from taking the assessment to receiving an Intercultural Development Plan (IDP). This plan is your personalized roadmap to growth, helping you and/or your team navigate the Intercultural Development Continuum (IDC) – a six-point scale measuring intercultural competence.

  • 1:1 Leadership Coaching

Take your team or organization performance to a new level with leadership coaching for Black and other women of color. Even the most adept leaders find themselves overwhelmed by challenges that are emotionally charged, hostile, and complex. Would it be helpful to better understand what’s underneath the behaviors of those whom you lead and how you show up as a leader? Continuous leadership coaching and support can challenge unexamined assumptions and determine why you are holding yourself back from playing bigger.

  • Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is the only theory-based assessment of intercultural competence. Unlike other tools that measure separate personal characteristics (e.g., openmindedness, flexibility, etc.), the IDI allows you to see an individual's or group's progression along a continuum of cross-cultural competence. Because of this, the IDI provides in-depth insights on how individuals, teams, and organizations make sense of cultural differences, and also how they respond to cultural differences. The IDI measures both one's mindset and skills.

  • For Black women and other women of color, supporting them in processing the ways their leadership style is impacted by their identities and lived experiences, and providing them with the individualized and intersectional support they need. This might look like coaching them on how to unpack ways their trauma, experiences with gendered racism and more have impact their confidence, sense of worth, and productivity and empowering them with sustainable and actionable insights for their holistic growth. Coaching packages vary and can be individualized based on the leaders’ needs.
